Blueberry Crumble

Blueberry crumble is a delicious dessert made with very nutritious blueberries and apples.

To make this dessert with 6-8 servings, you will need:

  • 4 apples*
  • 4 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 2 tsp cornstrach (cornflour)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup shredded dried coconut
  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Preheat your oven to 325 degrees.

Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples.

Stir berries, apples, cornstarch, and granulated sugar together in a bowl and then spread in a baking dish 12-14 inches in diameter.

Stir flour, brown sugar, oats, coconut, almonds, cinnamon, and ginger together in a bowl. Drizzle with melted butter and toss with a fork to combine.

Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the fruit.

Bake until golden and crisp, about 45-50 minutes.

This dish is best served warm.

*The apples will remain a little bit firm after the crumble is baked. If you want to make the apples softer, cook them in a covered microwave-proof dish for in the microwave for 7 minutes before mixing with the berries.
